We decided on a spontaneous weekend getaway with the kids up to Columbus at the beginning of December. The kids loved getting a hotel room for the night and swimming in the hotel pool. Plus we got to spend extra time with cousins for the weekend and go to cousin George's birthday party! Saturday was capped off by the annual holiday parade through downtown Columbus - something everyone should experience. Hilarious and festive all at the same time! What kid doesn't love to ogle at big rig trucks, motorcycles, tractors, flat bed trucks, and fire engines decked out in Christmas decorations, music, and lights? We ended the evening with fireworks from our hotel window. The magic of the season is officially in full swing!

On Sunday, after a morning swim, we visited the Commons indoor playground, and went to George's birthday party - what a fun day!!
