Weekend in October

Weekends in October are my favorite time of the year...and this last one was no exception. Poor Mary Lee spent it with an ear infection... nonetheless it was still fun and full of family time.

We kicked off the weekend with a pumpkin carving, followed by the traditional pumpkin seed roast. YUM! Even Mary Lee was begging for a taste, but we are making her wait until next year. After the pumpkin carving the kids snuggled down for a movie while eating pumpkin seeds and sipping on apple cider. Good times...

No fear, he dug right in. I think Scott was grossed out the most!
Calvin, do you want a bite??
Jack drew the design for the face. We convinced him to add a second eye!
Mary Lee getting in on the action. Poor thing was miserable. We headed to the doctor first thing in the morning.
Jack and the Jack-o-Lantern!

Saturday was filled with parties and another movie night but this one was part of a camp out in the living room (boys only). Mommy doesn't like to sleep on the floor if there is a perfectly good bed upstairs! :)
At Calvin's preschool's party

Jack met up with a former PreK buddy and they apparently share the same taste in costumes.
A dear favorite music teacher, Dr. Laura... We miss her!

At Brown Park.
Best brothers! (most of the time)
Thankfully Daddy was able to make the party rounds with the boys. Mary Lee and I spent 2 1/2 hours at the pediatrician's office. Apparently they put us in a room to wait to see the doctor and forgot to mark our room number on the board as ready for the doctor. As the staff was packing up for lunch they realized the mistake. I was too exhausted and hungry to get mad after chasing and entertaining a toddler in a small (likely germ infested) space for over 2 hours! Ugh. After her first two doses of antibiotic, Mary Lee perked right back up, and resumed walking all over the place!

This boy is so sweet, and the best snuggler around!

Love.
This is right before tickle monster Mommy attacked.
Sunday we attended the baptism of a friend's baby, and I squeezed in an afternoon nap.  A perfect end to the weekend!
Happy Fall!
