Boy: (noun) Noise with dirt on it.

Yes, that pretty much sums them up.  The boys... sigh. Where should I start? They are wild, exciting, adventurous, gross, full of energy, lots of fun, over stimulating at times, and very exhausting. But I love them dearly and every minute of their craziness (well, almost every minute).

Jack is really maturing, and while he still has his impulsive moments, he is a real sweetheart.  He went to VBS last week and had such a good time that he came home on Friday and cried that it was over.  He did the same thing when we got home from our trip to HH.  It is heart breaking when your child cries in your arms.  He is such a sensitive soul.  He loves hugs, one on one time, and picking flowers for Mommy.  He is extremely creative and loves any type of art project.  He creates stories in his head and narrates them out loud. And the things he can build with Legos impress me.  He recently got his first camera from Daddy and he has spent the past few days making "movies." He is a lot like his Daddy.  Jack is a curious boy with plenty of "why?"s in his brain, and he seems to have an affinity for math.  He is always looking for something new to experience and learn.  He is the sweetest big brother (to Mary Lee, Calvin not so much, as he prefers to antagonize mostly).  I shouldn't say that as most days the two boys do spend plenty of time together playing nicely.  It is just the moments of crying and screaming for Mommy that resonate in my head! Jack is a huge help around the house this summer. He has cleaned the play room up twice this week all by himself, and I can't tell you how proud that makes me!

Calvin. Oh my dear Calvin.  He is a piece of work. The other day we told him we had a surprise for him and he responded, "Is it a new iPad?" Really!  The things that come out of his mouth astound us but almost always have us smiling and laughing.  He is a very intelligent kid and not much gets past him.  He has a tremendous memory and good sense of humor.  There are times when he has me laughing so hard I am crying.  He wins the prize hands down for most dramatic (so far).  He can cue the tears instantly with ease.  He is obsessed with superheros, pirates, firemen, and scuba divers.  Calvin is the best hugger and snuggler in the house, and I make sure to enjoy some everyday!

I think he is pretending to ride on his pirate ship. He has a thing about climbing on furniture.
Bonding over remote control gadgets - total guys!
Chia Shrek! A birthday gift from last December.
This is typical of these two... very entertaining and crazy wild.
My favorite noises with dirt on them :)
